During the consultation call, we will discuss your medical history to determine if you are an appropriate candidate for Lymphedema therapy, and are you willing to participate and be compliant with therapy. I will discuss with you MLD and compression bandaging. We will also discuss fees for services as well as needed supplies and length of time for therapy.
Upon completion of the consultation. We will enact your customized plan, starting with the first therapy session that will include MLD and compression bandaging of the involved limb as well as perform skin and nail care. I will provide patient education on diet, how to perform skin and nail care. You will also receive a customized exercise plan.
The maintenance phase is really focused on you and maintaining the results we accomplished in the first phase. I will continue to educate you on how to perform self-MLD. We will also talk about compression garments, what's the best compression class, type, and which one would yield the best results. We will be performing custom garment fitting during this phase. We will discuss follow-up appointments during the phase.

You will be equipped with the necessary tools to maintain success through MLD, CDT, Compression garments and remedial exercises. By maintaining results from therapy sessions, you’ll experience:
Limb reduction - this will improve your ability to perform activities of daily living and increase your mobility.
Decrease the development of wounds. - most patients with lymphedema have decrease immunity. With skin, nail and wound care this will decrease the likelihood of developing recurrent skin infections such as cellulitis and reduce and improve chronic wounds.
Improvement in skin conditions - with lymphedema the skin can have so many changes such as discoloration, papilloma's and fibrotic tissue, it is important to conduct meticulous skin care to reduce and improve these changes.
