Post-surgical lymphatic drainage is a technique that is used to help increase the recovery time and reduce swelling from surgical procedures. Post-operative tissue fibrosis refers to the formation of excessive scar tissue in the body following a surgical procedure. It is a common complication that can occur in various tissues and organs, leading to functional impairments and discomfort. We use several different techniques to help break down surgical fibrosis.
Skincare and nail hygiene are very important in the treatment and management of lymphedema. Lymph fluid is very rich in protein which produces an environment that has a high affinity for bacterial growth. This can lead to skin ulcerations, which are commonly found in patients with venous insufficiency and lymphedema. Utilizing a pH balance moisturizer is recommended. Wound care is a service that we can provide, following wound care protocols in addition to your lymphedema therapy.
We specialize in providing high-quality fajas, compression fittings and recommendations to help you achieve your desired body shape and provide support for various purposes. A faja is a versatile garment designed to shape and contour your body, providing firm compression and support. It is commonly worn around the waist and abdomen but can also extended to the thighs, arms and buttocks. Fajas are typically made of elastic and breathable materials, ensuring comfort while offering effective compression after cosmetic self love therapy.
Proper care of your surgical incision is crucial for a smooth recovery and optimal healing. Incisional care includes preventing infections, avoiding tension on the surgical scar, providing education on proper dressings and ensuring the scar heals with an aesthetically pleasing result. Incisional care is included in all our post operative packages.
After surgery, drains and sutures are commonly used to aid in the healing process and prevent complications. Drain and suture removal are done in a clean environment and using sterile equipment. Our Nurse practitioner is highly trained and skilled at removing these items. We will guide you on how to monitor the drains, empty or measure the fluid output, and ensure proper wound care.
